Photography Contest: Great States Update

GFWC is asking each state to hold a photography contest and select a winning photograph that represents its state.  The winning photograph will be sent to GFWC and will be displayed at Headquarters.

Contest Guidelines:

1. The photo should represent the entire state.
2. Winning photos should be framed, matted, and ready to hang.
3. Consideration should be given to how well the photo represents the state and to the artistic merits of the photo itself.
4. The horizontal photo should be no larger than 20x18 inches (including frame, mat, and glass).  No vertical photos, please.
5. Photo should be in color and may originate from digital format, if desired.  Photos should not contain a visible date stamp.
6. State information should be firmly attached to the back of the photo, including name of state, name of photographer, and description of location.
7. Only the state’s name and the photographer should be on the mat.  No plaques or poetry on framed photo will be accepted.
8. Photographers must be dues spaying members of active GFWC clubs.

The winning photo will represent the state and be displayed at GFWC Headquarters.

Winning state photos will be exhibited at the GFWC Annual International Convention in 2010.

     States should submit winning photos to the GFWC Program Department by March  31, 2010.

No GFWC awards will be given.

Photos will not be returned.

The same photo may be submitted to multiple photo contests, but separate matted prints must be entered into each contest.
