GFWC International President

Rose M. Ditto, Ph.D.

July 2, 2008

Dear GFWC Members,

Thank you for the privilege and honor of serving as your GFWC International President for the 2008-2010 Administration. I can tell you that there is renewed enthusiasm and dedication among all levels of our membership for improving communities. I genuinely want you to know that this is not just "my" administration; it is "our" administration, for together we can continue to achieve phenomenal strides in enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.

The theme for this 2008-2010 Administration is ""GFWC – A Vision of Possibilities." We are a richly diverse organization, and yet almost everything we experience in life is addressed in our GFWC programs and projects. Please take time to carefully review the 2008-2010 Club Manual, for there are new visions and new possibilities within each section. I especially want to call your attention to the Home Life Department: Focus on Health Program, which includes the study of healthy self-worth. In all that we do, we can benefit from understanding of

how our attitudes, behaviors, leadership, and membership participation are related to individual self confidence and commitment

During this administration, we will place a priority on increasing Federation membership. We must not only continue working to retain and gain members in our clubs, but also organize new clubs. Volunteers are needed in all communities, and we must help those communities understand that they need GFWC! Just as Rosie the Riveter became a symbol during World War Two that women needed to become involved in the work force, she will be our symbol to become involved in a membership campaign. There will be incentives and tools to inspire and encourage you, so please stay informed through our GFWC publications and website at www.GFWC.org.

As we increase our circle of influence, we will increase the wellbeing of our clubs and communities. Together, "We Can Do It!"

Love,

Rose M. Ditto, Ph.D.
